How to Manage Spam Filtering Options

What types of spam filtering options are available?
Four levels of filtering options are
available to Okstate email account holders.
The following filter options are available:

No Spam
Filtering: No filtering will take place
·
Filter Adult
Spam Only: This level of
filtering is the default setting and will filter out spam messages with adult
(i.e. pornographic) content. These
messages will be placed in a quarantine area associated with your account. At this level of filtering, users will still
receive unsolicited bulk email messages.

Filter All
Spam: This setting will filter every kind of spam
including all unsolicited bulk email (i.e., both adult and non-adult).
·
Tag and
Deliver Spam: This method of spam filtering delivers all
spam to the user's regular email account.
However, the Proofpoint server "tags" or labels messages as
spam and indicates the spam "score" on the message subject line. (See I have chosen the Tag and Forward option…)
How
do I log into my Spamblocker account?

1.
Open a Spam Quarantine Digest message* 2.
Click the "Change My Spam Settings" link at the top
of the message. 3.
At the login screen, enter your O-Key email address and
O-Key password. (You must have your
O-Key account activated to be able to access your SpamBlocker account. Please see http://okey.okstate.edu . Contact helpdesk@okstate.edu for

How do I
change the level of spam protection?
1. Log into your Spamblocker (see How do I log into my Spamblocker account?)
2. In the lower left-hand
side of the screen, click on the Profile icon

3. In the center
of the screen, choose the spam filtering option you prefer.
4. Click the Save
button, (located on the upper left-hand side)
5. To log out,
click Logout (located on the upper left-hand
side)
How
do I retrieve a quarantined message to my regular inbox?
1. Open the Spam Quarantine Digest email
containing the email you want delivered to your email inbox.
2. Locate the message and click the Deliver
Message link to the left of the listing.
3. The original email message will be delivered
to your inbox with the tag [Released] added to the front of the Subject line.
How do I get a
complete list of all the messages in my quarantine?
1.
Open any Spam Quarantine
Digest email message.
2.
Click the Request My Full Digest link at the top of the
page.
3.
An email showing the full contents of your message
quarantine will be delivered to your inbox.
How do I add
senders to my Safe Senders or Blocked Senders lists?
1. Access your
Spam Settings account by clicking the Change
My Spam Settings link at the top of any Spam Quarantine Digest message.
2. Log in to your
Spamblocker account using your standard O-Key email address and password.
3. On the
left-hand column, you will see two links:
"Safe Senders List" and "Blocked Senders List." Click the one that you prefer to use.
4. Click the
"New" button at the top of the screen.

5. Type the email
address of the sender you would like to block or permit.

The sender can be a complete address of an individual (joe@example.com) or,
·
A domain for an entire company or service provider
(yahoo.com) or
·
A mailing list address.


6. Click
"Save" at the top left-hand side of the page
7. Log out by
clicking the Logout button at the upper left-hand side of the screen.
I do not wish
to receive the Spam Quarantine Digest.
What do I do?
1.
Log into your Spamblocker account.
2.
Click the Profile link in the lower left-hand side of the screen.
3.
In the My Settings area, uncheck "Send digest with new
messages.
4.
Uncheck "Send digest even when I have no messages in my
Spam Quarantine Digest."
5.
Click Save (button at upper left-hand side of screen).
6.
Logout.
